Heathrow Reimagined: A Better Hub for Britain Responds to Heathrow FY24 Announcement
A spokesperson for the Heathrow Reimagined campaign, said:
“The Heathrow Reimagined campaign wants an improved experience for passengers at the UK's only hub airport, which is already the world’s most expensive, but not at any price.
“Today’s announcement sets out the need for “modernising existing facilities” and “unlocking new capacity”, yet despite spending £15 billion in the last 20 years, Heathrow still operates some of the world’s oldest terminals. The current regulatory system at Heathrow has failed to provide value for money to passengers, and whilst expansion won’t be taxpayer funded, it is the airlines and passengers who foot the bill through higher passenger charges.
“We continue to call on the Civil Aviation Authority for an urgent review to address the root causes and to ensure the right framework is in place before passengers and airlines are locked into high charges for decades to come.”
